Sally has been practicing as a licensed therapist for 22 years and in the mental health field for over 25 years. Sally has a wide range of experience and has treated a broad spectrum of populations in counseling groups, individuals, and couples. Her areas of practice include working with individuals that have PTSD, OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder, inmates, detained immigrants, men, serious mental illness, Bipolar Disorder and depressive disorders. She has provided groups for women’s trauma, dually diagnosed individuals, substance abuse, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills groups. She uses an integrated approach to meet each client’s needs. She values the client/therapist relationship, and she honors the balance and quality in this relationship.
Sally specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and incorporates Person-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies into treatment. She helps clients to find a life worth living, learning to change behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that cause chronic distress. She believes that clients want to improve. Thus, she helps them to gain a better understanding of how their behaviors, emotions, and thoughts are linked to problems in life. Her goal is to provide guidance with problem solving and other skills needed to self-manage emotional and mental health so that ultimately, healing takes place, and transcendent goals can be reached.
