Katie has her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Developmental Psychology and Counseling. She has experience counseling individuals who have past and current family-related issues, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, and grief. She is happy to work with children, teens, young adults, and older. Katie believes that one of the most meaningful things a counselor can do is provide a safe and empathetic space for her clients to process their experiences and feel their emotions authentically. Knowing that your experiences and perspectives shape the world within you and around you, Katie also seeks to help you identify the ways this plays out in your life and relationships. Sometimes this results in trigger responses, negative thought-life, and maladaptive behaviors. Getting to the reason behind why these things occur is one of the first steps. From there, Katie hopes to help you build healthy tools to cope with your past experiences, reach acceptance, and navigate your future in a much healthier way.
