Ellen is currently pursuing a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has over 8 years of professional experience with clients with various struggles.  She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives and works beside her clients to help identify their therapeutic goals, understand their struggles and challenges, and develop personalized solutions to promote healing, resolve lingering pain, and integrate trauma and loss. Whether clients are experiencing difficulty adapting to changes or life transitions, dealing with grief and loss, or struggling to process trauma, Ellen works with clients to support them on their healing journey by facilitating increased self-awareness and understanding and development of healthy coping skills.

Ellen employs an integrative approach to counseling, drawing heavily on a person-centered, humanistic, and solutions-focused approach to guide her work with grief, loss, and trauma. She focuses on creating a safe, supportive and collaborative counseling environment where clients and the counselor contribute equally to the therapeutic process, each providing their own areas of expertise. She helps clients to express, recognize, and process the underlying issues and emotions by combining creative approaches and talk therapy with mindfulness and behavioral modification techniques.
