Darrius has been in the mental health field since 2014.  He began his career in mental health skill-building and a juvenile detention center.  He holds a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, certifications in Functional Family Therapy, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

Darrius found his passion for working with low-income families and families with unresolved trauma, and therefore has participated in multiple trainings surrounding a trauma-informed approach. Darrius specializes in working with clients who have struggles with anger management, trauma, communication deficits, and multicultural struggles. He has extensive experience in working with families and teens with gang influences. He also works with parents on the above struggles along with how some of the related deficits may affect their relationship.

Darrius believes that progress starts on the day you decide to seek help, and he firmly believes in the importance of connecting with each of his clients to increase the chances of getting them in the best position to experience life in a more impactful way.  He believes that the clients are the experts on themselves and finds it imperative to work together with the client to create a treatment plan to guide you to a healthy space that will allow you to experience life differently.
